Tao Spa Massage FAQ — Glenside & Spring House

Tao Spa is a Pennsylvania massage and spa open 9 AM to 9 PM, with 30-minute, 60-minute, and 90-minute sessions starting at $42. Welcome to the Tao Spa FAQ — the place to find clear, professional answers about booking, services, walk-in availability, payment, and what to expect on the day of your massage or facial at our Glenside and Spring House locations.

Our therapists are trained in both Eastern bodywork (acupressure, meridian, reflexology) and Western techniques (Swedish, deep tissue, lymphatic drainage). Below you will find the most common questions we hear from new and returning clients. If your question is not answered here, please call or text us at (215) 824-8585.

Tao Spa is a relaxation and wellness spa — not a medical clinic. For research-backed background on massage therapy itself, the NCCIH overview of massage therapy, the NCCIH 6 things to know about massage therapy, and the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) are excellent starting points.

Booking & Walk-In Questions

Tao Spa Booking, Cancellation & Walk-In Policy

Everything you need to know about reserving a session, walk-in availability, and group bookings at Tao Spa Glenside and Spring House.

Walk-ins are welcome at both our Glenside and Spring House locations during all open hours. However, we recommend booking an appointment to ensure availability — especially for couples sessions, 90-minute treatments, and weekend slots, which fill up first.

For group bookings of three or more (bachelorette, mother-daughter, friends), please contact us directly by calling or texting (215) 824-8585. We will coordinate room availability and therapist scheduling for you.

We kindly ask for at least 2 hours' notice for cancellations. No-shows may require prepayment for your next appointment. This policy lets us offer the time slot to other clients on our wait list.

We accept cash, credit cards, and most major mobile payment methods. Cash is preferred — listed prices are cash rates, and card payments may incur a small processing fee.

Common questions about the massage, facial, reflexology, and specialty bodywork we offer.

Yes — both locations offer couples massage including Candle-Lit Couples (60 / 90 min), Luxury Couples, Couples Healthy Combo, and Couples Reflexology. Sessions are performed side-by-side in a private room for a shared relaxation experience.

Yes, we offer several facial options including Hydration Facial (60 min), Gentlemen's Facial, Collin Hydrating Lifting Facial (75 min), and Mini Facial (30 min). Our facials use premium professional products to hydrate, brighten, and rejuvenate your skin.

No. Tao Spa is a relaxation and wellness spa, not a medical facility. According to the NIH National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, massage therapy is widely used as a complement to conventional care for stress, tension, and general well-being, but it is not a substitute for medical treatment. See the NIH NCCIH overview of massage therapy at nccih.nih.gov for clinical context.

Mayo Clinic notes that massage is widely used to reduce stress, ease muscle tension, and support general well-being, and most healthy adults can benefit from regular sessions. Our certified, cross-trained therapists tailor every session to your pressure preference and the specific areas you want addressed.

Visit Preparation Questions

What to Wear, Hours & In-Home Massage

What to wear, how to prepare, and what to expect on the day of your spa appointment.

Wear comfortable clothing. For massage services, you will be provided with draping for your comfort and privacy. For reflexology, wear loose pants that can be rolled up. For facials, hair will be wrapped and a robe is provided.

Glenside is open Monday through Sunday, 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Spring House is open Wednesday through Monday, 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM (closed Tuesdays). Last appointment is typically 60–90 minutes before closing depending on session length.

Yes, we offer mobile in-home massage services. Contact us to schedule a 60-minute in-home session starting at $125. Advance booking is required — same-day in-home requests are usually unavailable.

We recommend arriving 10 minutes early for your first visit so we can take you through a short intake about pressure preferences, areas of concern, and any health notes. Returning clients can arrive 5 minutes early. Late arrivals shorten the session — start time stays fixed so the next client is not delayed.
